New York Knicks edge Spurs in game 4 to move one win away from NBA title
The New York Knicks took a massive step toward winning the 2026 NBA Championship after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 107-106 in a thrilling Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night. In front of a packed Madison Square Garden, the Knicks completed a remarkable comeback from a 29-point deficit, securing one of the most memorable victories in Finals history and taking a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Game 4 appeared to be heading in San Antonio’s favor for most of the first half. The Spurs dominated the opening quarters with sharp shooting, strong defense, and excellent ball movement. Led by Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio built a huge lead that reached 29 points, leaving Knicks fans stunned and seemingly on the verge of witnessing the series being tied at 2-2.
However, the second half told a completely different story. The Knicks emerged from the locker room with renewed energy and determination. Star guard Jalen Brunson took control of the offense, attacking the basket and knocking down key shots. Alongside him, OG Anunoby delivered one of the best performances of his career, helping New York slowly chip away at the Spurs’ advantage.

As the game entered the fourth quarter, the momentum had fully shifted. Every defensive stop energized the home crowd, while every basket brought the Knicks closer to completing the impossible comeback. Brunson finished the night with 36 points and seven assists, while Anunoby added 33 points, proving instrumental in New York’s resurgence.
The dramatic finish kept fans on the edge of their seats. With less than a minute remaining, the Spurs still held a narrow lead. After forcing a defensive stop, the Knicks gained possession for one final opportunity. Brunson attempted a decisive shot, but when the ball bounced off the rim, Anunoby reacted quickly, securing the rebound and scoring the game-winning basket with just over a second left on the clock.

For San Antonio, Wembanyama recorded 24 points and 13 rebounds, but the Spurs struggled offensively in the second half. After scoring 76 points before halftime, they managed only 30 in the final two quarters, allowing New York to stage its historic comeback.
The Knicks’ 107-106 victory not only gave them a crucial Game 4 win but also placed them one-step away from their first NBA championship since 1973. Holding a 3-1 advantage in the series, New York now needs just one more victory to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy. Meanwhile, the Spurs face a must-win Game 5 at home; as they attempt to keep their championship hopes alive. Game 5 will held at Frost Bank Center on Sunday 2:30 A.M.
