REG VC and Police WVC crowned Liberation Cup champions
REG VC and Police WVC emerged as the champions of the 2026 Liberation Cup after winning the men's and women's volleyball finals respectively. The annual tournament concluded on Friday, July 3, as part of Rwanda's Liberation Day celebrations.
REG VC capped off an impressive campaign by defeating Police VC 3-1 in the men's final to reclaim the Liberation Cup title. The victory completed a remarkable season for REG, marking its third trophy of the year after previously winning the National Volleyball League and the Father Emmanuel Kayumba Memorial Tournament.

The champions reached the final after overcoming APR VC 3-1 in the semifinals, while Police VC booked their place with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Gisagara VC. Earlier in the competition, REG had also beaten Police VC 3-1 during the group stage.

Gisagara VC finished third after edging APR VC 3-2 in the bronze-medal match.
In the women's competition, defending champions Police WVC successfully retained their title with a commanding 3-0 victory over APR WVC in the final. The team continued its dominant run after eliminating RRA WVC 3-1 in the semifinals.

Police WVC's triumph added another major trophy to their collection this season, having also lifted the BK Arena Volleyball Tournament title.

APR WVC had secured its place in the final by defeating Kepler WVC in straight sets. RRA WVC finished third after Kepler WVC withdrew from the bronze-medal match due to injury concerns within the squad.
The Liberation Cup is held annually to commemorate Rwanda's Liberation Day on July 4, celebrating the country's liberation in 1994. This year's edition once again showcased the strength of domestic volleyball, with REG VC and Police WVC confirming their status among Rwanda's top volleyball clubs.
