Rwamagana set to host thrilling round II of Rwanda beach volleyball national tour

This Beach Volleyball National Tour is a beach volleyball competition that is part of the annual competition calendar of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation and the International Volleyball Federation. The tournament awards ranking points to beach volleyball players.

The last Beach Volleyball National Tour Round I took place in December 2025 at Falcon Golf and Country Club in Rwamagana.

Valentine Munezero & Albertine Uwiringiyimana 

In the men’s category, Paul Akan and Merci Gisubizo put together an impressive run, winning three consecutive matches without defeat to book a place in the final. They overcame Niyikiza Revis and Mandela Nzirimo 2-1 (24-22, 14-21, 15-11) to secure the gold medal.

In the battle for third place, Samuel Niyinshima and Vincent Mbonigaba defeated Cedric Munezero and Kelly Shema 2-1 (21-11, 20-22, 15-10) to take home the bronze medal.

While in women’s category, Munezero and Uwiringiyimana captured the title after defeating Francoise Yankurije and Aliane Nirere 2-1 (21-14, 17-21, 15-08) in a tightly contested final. The champions conceded just one set throughout the tournament, which came in the final, while winning all four of their matches.

The bronze medal went to Catherine Ainembabazi and Sandra Ayepoa of Uganda, who defeated Rwanda’s Angelique Tuyizere and Ingrid Sifa in straight sets, 21-19 and 21-16, in the third-place playoff.
